The disorder is classified by a lack of empathy, little regard for others feelings, viewing the world as hostile, only looking out for themselves, not thinking about consequences, and being prone to criminal behavior (1)

In a brain scan of a psychopath compared to a normal person the psychopath's brain shows reduced amounts of "grey areas" in the prefrontal cortex and temporal poles these areas play a vital role in explaining emotions and moral behaviors. having less of these areas will result in a lack of empathy, guilt, and the inability to feel self conscious, which are all characteristics of a psychopath. Jeffery Dahmer is a famous psychopath that was arrested by the police, who then found several human skulls and corpses in his hous. He captured and killed 15 men, which some of whom he raped and then stored in containers filled with acid. Jeffrey also practiced cannibalism and would eat the flesh and organs of his victims. However, He was said to be sane, and therefore found guilty of 15 murders, and sentenced to life in prison. (3) |
